Grenades Launched in Kigali
On December 28, 2008 at around 8:30 pm, unknown assailants detonated two grenades in the Kigali neighborhoods of Kinamba and Muhima. The last known incident involving a grenade attack took place in April 2008 at the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre; there is no evidence linking these incidents. While the investigation by the Rwanda National Police is ongoing, the Embassy advises American citizens in Rwanda to remain alert and avoid crowded public areas and traffic chokepoints.
