General Information Part I and Part II
Introduction
The Educational Advising Center (EAC) provides quality, timely, accurate, unbiased information about all accredited U.S. higher education institutions for persons wishing to study in the U.S.
The EAC offers individual and group advising sessions for free of charge to help interested Rwandan students who have the academic qualifications and financial resources for studying in the United States.
Facilities and services available at the center include:
• Counseling services
• Personal interviews with students, parents, guardians and sponsors
• Assistance to complete application forms for U.S. colleges and universities
• Help to convey the finest qualities of the applicants
• Library of print and electronic educational materials
• Tutorials
• Technology Center
• Internet and E-mail
• Provide contact information for colleges and universities
EAC counselors will assist clients to:
• Select and apply to appropriate institution
• Reference materials and information booklets on standardized tests(TOEFL, SAT, GRE and GMAT).
• Understand what life will be like in a new environment and culture
Orientation or Group sessions
Orientation or Group sessions are held on 3rd Wednesdays each month. They include:
• Detailed information about preparing to study in the United States
• Counseling on the visa process
• Pre-departure orientation and procedures

EDUCATIONAL ADVISING CENTER HOURS
Individual Advising Sessions:Tuesday and Thursday: 2:00pm- 5:30pm
Group Advising Sessions: 3rd Wednesday of each month
Note: All applicants must read thoroughly the U. S. study and standardized test information sheets available in the library and attend a group session before making individual appointments with the educational advisor. There is no fee for these services.
