Ambassador's Self-Help Fund

Each year, the American Ambassador in Rwanda provides financial assistance to small, community-based projects.  Project proposals are accepted throughout the year on the last Friday of each month at the Embassy between 10am - 12pm.  The deadline for this year’s grant proposals is June 1st, 2007 at 12pm.

Projects that are funded by the Ambassador’s Self Help Fund are those projects initiated by the community and should reflect a community need - not the needs of one person or family.  Special consideration is given to projects that have the potential to generate income or to encourage community development.  Examples of successful projects include the construction of a workshop, modernization or expansion of agriculture or livestock-raising, and the acquisition of equipment for technical schools or training programs.

Our annual Self-Help Fund budget covers 10-15 projects each year. Only proposals that strictly meet the fund's objectives and criteria will be considered.  If your project proposal is accepted for consideration, a representative of the Embassy will visit your project site to discuss your proposal with you and to verify the details presented in your proposal.  It is important to include a map or description of your location, to help us to make a visit.

INKUNGA YA AMBASADERI IFASHA IMISHINGA ICIRIRITSE

Buri mwaka, Ambasaderi wa Leta Zunze Ubumwe za Amerika atera inkunga imishinga iciriritse kandi igamije amajyambere y’abayitabiriye. Abafite imishinga iciriritse, bashobora kuyigeza kuri Ambasade ya Leta Zunze Ubumwe za Amerika buri wa Gatanu wa nyuma w’ukwezi, hagati ya saa ine na saa sita z’amanywa. Iyo mishinga iterwa inkunga n’ikigega cya Ambasaderi wa Ambasade ya Leta Zunze Ubumwe za Amerika cyitwa “Ambassador’s Self Help Fund” isabwa kuba yatekerejwe n’abaturage kandi isubiza ibibazo by’abaturage batuye aho imishinga izakorera; ntabwo ari imishinga yita ku bibazo by’umuntu ku giti cye cyangwa se ku bibazo by’umuryango umwe. Imishinga ibyarira inyungu abaturage cyangwa ifasha abaturage kwiteza imbere niyo yitabwaho cyane. Aha twatanga ingero: Nko kubaka  isarumara n’izindi nganda ziciriritse, guteza imbere ubuhinzi n’ubworozi cyangwa se kugura ibikoresho bikenerwa mu mashuli y’imyuga, n'ubukorikori.

Inkuga itangwa ifasha hagati y’imishinga 10-15 buri mwaka. Imishinga yubahirije ibisabwa n’ikigega cya “Self Help” kugirango iterwe inkunga, kandi iyo umushinga wemewe, umukozi wo kuri Ambasade ya Leta Zunze Ubumwe za Amerika aza kuwusura kugirango ahamye ko ibyanditswe aribyo koko umushinga ukora.
